What is Women Employment Facilitation Centre (WEFC) :: Establishment of WEFC at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur

A Women Employment Facilitation Centre has been established at Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur on 12th August 2009. The main objective of this centre is to provide guidance and information on employment to male and female of the Khairpur District. Initially the program was designed to focus on facilitating only women, however, later the ground assessment revealed that men may also include in this initiative as an important beneficiaries.  

This career facilitation program is designed for helping individuals in their employment needs and give them guidance and information related to jobs and different employers. The center facilitates and guides individuals to find the appropriate information about relevant job according to his/her education and experience. The unit compiles and shares related information via individual meetings, emails, counseling sessions and provision of relevant resource materials etc. 

WEFC also connect individuals to the job market by identifying potential employers and sharing of their details with the individuals. It also encourages individuals to meet different employers to be more acquainted with information.  

WEFC also maintains linkages with employers to support them in finding suitable candidates according to specific job descriptions. This exchange of information helps in making the direction of individuals that on what they need to be focused and what are the expectations of the employer and the demand of the job market.

  • Reference materials for getting better jobs

  • Computer/Internet Access

  • Employee Assistance Services

  • Provide information about community resources

  • Match candidates’ interests and skills to the best possible job choice

  • Help in completing job applications and resume

  • Help in interview preparation

  • Help in maintaining positive working relations on the job

  • Tips on how to look for a job

  • Labour market information and the hidden job market

  • Self marketing tools

  • Help in developing future action plans & next steps

  • Help employer to share relevant information about their expectations with the individuals and the demand I the job market.

  • Help employers by referring good candidates to them as per their specific job description.
