What is
Women Employment Facilitation
Centre (WEFC)
:: Introduction
|
In partnership with Shah Abdul
Latif University (SALU),
Khairpur District, Sindh, LEAD
Pakistan has established an
Employment Facilitation Resource
Centre at SALU that is providing
‘free guidance and information
on employment’ to male and
female of Khairpur District. It
is playing a pivotal role as
linkage support units, meeting
point for individuals, and
subsequently a job/employment
guidance resource centre. This
centre is also instrumental in
counselling and hosting
awareness raising dialogues and
workshops to empower individuals
especially women.

In order to ensure maximum
decent employment opportunities
to men and women of the target
district, the center is focusing
on providing advice and guidance
according to the need in the job
market and employers demand.
With provision of services that
helps develop basic knowledge
and skill sets in the stated
areas, employers are also
encouraged to provide advanced
counselling opportunities
according to their job
requirements.
This program is designed for
helping individuals in their
employment needs and give them
guidance and information related
to jobs and different employers.
The center facilitates and
guides individuals to find the
appropriate information about
relevant job according to
his/her education and
experience. The unit also
compiles and shares related
information via individual
meetings, emails, counseling
sessions etc.
WEFC
also connect individuals to the
job market by identifying
potential employers and sharing
of their details with the
individuals. It also encourages
individuals to meet different
employers to be more acquainted
with information.
WEFC
also maintains linkages with
employers to support them in
finding suitable candidates
according to specific job
description. This exchange of
information helps in making the
direction of individuals that on
what they need to focus and what
are the expectations of the
employer and the demand of the
job market.
